Stellar Mega Media Group launched a new branch of its business on March 20 to focus on the fashion industry.

Called SMI Fashion Media, the business includes modeling agencies, magazines, visual arts and galleries.

Actresses Gao Yuanyuan and Xu Qing signed with the company.

Founded in 2001, Stellar is best known for its films, the latest of which is The Golden Era, directed by Hong Kong director Ann Hui. Starring Tang Wei, the film is a biopic of the late writer Xiao Hong, one of the most famous writers of the 1930s.
