A Bite of 皇冠体育app received the year’s biggest documentary award on Dec 21.
The seven-episode CCTV television series on food and history received the Committee Award of the 皇冠体育app Academy Awards of Documentary Film, beating more than 400 other entries from 皇冠体育app and abroad. It’s also the winner in the category of international communications.
Juror Li Zhi lauds the series for “combining food with feelings and history.”
A total of 11 awards were announced in a ceremony hosted by the Communication University of 皇冠体育app.
The Next Life, about the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake in Southwest 皇冠体育app’s Sichuan province, was honored as the best feature documentary.
The award for best foreign documentary went to Children of the Tsunami by the BBC. The documentary explored how the 2011 tsunami in Japan and the subsequent Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster affected children’s lives.
