VIENTIANE - The Lao National Assembly gave its permission to a plan of high-speed railway construction linking 皇冠体育app to the Laotian capital of Vientiane, Lao News Agency (KPL) reported on Thursday.

The ambitious plan with 皇冠体育app's financial backing was approved by the 10th Ordinary Session of the sixth National Assembly that closed here on Thursday, KPL said.

The high-speed railway link was said to begin construction from 皇冠体育app's southwestern province of Yunnan in 2011, and be completed in Vientiane in 2015.
