"2436a" is an artists group named after the key code to their studio gate lock. The members are Chinese studying and working in France. Eight members of the group are presenting an exhibition, as part of the off-site Shanghai Biennale events. The exhibition is named The Recessive Umbilical Cord. Through video, installation and paintings, the exhibition reveals the artists' connection with their motherland, as well as their pursuit for art in France.
