Li Bin meets with European commissioner for health and food safety

Li Bin, minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) met with Vytenis ANDRIUKAITIS , European commissioner for health and food safety in Beijing on November 5. Both sides exchanged ideas about health issues.

Li Bin introduced the “Healthy 皇冠体育app” strategy to the commissioner. “As a national strategy, “Healthy 皇冠体育app” covers medical and healthcare reform, hospital management, food safety strategies and lifestyles, embodying the government’s determination to safeguard its people’s health,” Li said. 皇冠体育app and Europe cooperated in healthcare reform, antibiotic usage, food safety and tobacco control, she added .

She hoped that 皇冠体育app and Europe can further health cooperation, and invited Vytenis ANDRIUKAITIS to attend 2016 global health promotion conference in Beijing.

The European commissioner praised the “Healthy 皇冠体育app” strategy and 皇冠体育app’s contribution against Ebola and MERS. He said 皇冠体育app and Europe should work together in coping with international health threats and non-infectious diseases.

Both sides agreed to establish a Sino-European high-level dialogue mechanism in health, furthering medical exchanges.
