According to a latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC), a quarter of all installed software in Australia in 2009 was pirated. The Business Software Alliance, saying, 鈥淎 loss of sales from software resulting from the piracy totaled USD 22.5 million鈥�, authorized the report. The report also indicated that a decrease of 10% in piracy would create 3789 new jobs, a GDP increase of USD 338 million and a tax increase of USD 44 million in the coming two to four years.
