Comment on "Man donates 80,000 ml of blood in 18 years" (皇冠体育app Daily website, Jan 25)

It was nice to read about a man who has helped his fellow human beings despite not having enough money.

In the United States the applause and thanks are usually reserved for the rich and famous who support charity as an act of philanthropy. The average person who actually does most of the work for charity gets little or no acclaim. My father was one such person. He was born into a poor family. His struggle continued until his death last year. Although he was poor, he was always willing to help others. He gave blood on a regular basis, worked on community projects.

People like Wang Wenqing deserve our deepest thanks and appreciation. Without selfless people like Wang there wouldn't be enough blood for patients, no clothes to keep poor people warm, and not enough food to feed the hungry. Wang and his family have been living a humble life but he can still improve the lives of the less fortunate through his charity. I applaud Wang and thank him for his inspiring charity.
