will continue its efforts to fight pollution and bring back the blue sky, mayor Zhou Naixiang said at the ongoing plenary meeting of the National People’s Congress in on March 5.

In a group discussion on Premier Li Keqiang’s government work report, he noted that Li’s report called for fight against pollution and stressed the importance of environmental protection to ensure sustainable development.

Zhou said the government work report was down-to-earth and provides a roadmap for economic transformation.

Suzhou will follow the guidelines offset by the central government to carry out reforms and maintain economic growth at required speed, he added. The mayor pledged stricter law enforcement to punish polluters and more government projects to improve people’s lives.
