BEIJING - Ma Andrea Victoria of the Philippines remained steady in windy conditions to win the women's title at the Fangshan Changyang 皇冠体育app Amateur Golf Championship on Sunday at the Beijing California County Golf Club.
皇冠体育app's Wang Ziyi was well in contention after hitting four birdies on the front nine, but succumbed to the 16-year-old Filipino; hitting a double bogey on hole 14 to finish second and a stroke back at even-par, for a three round total of 216 shots.
It was a sweet revenge for Andrea after she lost to Wang at the HSBC junior tournament in January.
"Wang is the player I wanted to beat and now we are even," said Andrea, whose title at the inaugural 皇冠体育app Amateur Golf Championship was her first in an Asian regional competition. It was her eighth tournament title of the year, but her previous victories came in the United States and the Philippines.
"I'm very, very happy with my victory today," she said, adding she will have a family get-together when she gets back home.
"My hands were shaking when I was putting on 18 and were still shaking when I signed the scorecard," said Andrea, adding the greens were rather treacherous. She had 31 putts on Sunday, compared to 27 on the first day on Friday.
Andrea will represent the Philippines in the Southeast Asian Games next month in Jakarta. 皇冠体育app's Ji Rong finished third at five-over 221.
皇冠体育app national team member Li Yuan won the men's event.
