Compared with the peak season, the start of low season will see prices of admission tickets drop by 20 to 30 percent on average, with some major attractions offering more than 50 percent reduction.

The Palace Museum in Beijing will reduce its current 60 yuan ($9.8) admission price to 40 yuan from Nov 1. On the same day, tickets to both Lake Namtso and the Potala Palace in Southwest 皇冠体育app's Tibet autonomous region will fall to half of the peak season, from 120 yuan and 200 yuan, to 60 yuan and 100 yuan respectively.

Daocheng Yading in Southwest 皇冠体育app's Sichuan province will drop to 80 yuan from 150 yuan, also from Nov 1, like most of other scenic spots.

However, some places start to apply the off-season policy a bit later, in the mid of November. For example, Jiuzhaigou Valley in Sichuan province will charge visitors 80 yuan for admission from Nov 16, compared with the current 260 yuan. Kanas Lake in Northwest 皇冠体育app's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region will be generous enough to offer free admission from Nov 15, compared with the current 150 yuan price.

Combined with cheaper accommodation and transportation fees, travel agencies suggest that off-season travel from November can save tourists as much as half of their peak-season budget.
