Graduates get bowls as gifts

It is graduation season, and everyone who is about to step into the real world from their "ivory towers" is full of anticipation.

Each graduate of East 皇冠体育app Jiaotong University received a porcelain bowl on Tuesday.

The gifts, dubbed "gold bowls" by the students, have auspicious meaning in Chinese, implying good wishes for a well-paid job.

Chinese like to send gifts with good meanings. An earlier report said a high school gave lucky money to college entrance exam takers before the gaokao.
