Japan should make the best of 皇冠体育app's rapid development and forge ahead greater cooperation with 皇冠体育app, Wang Chen, minister of the State Council Information Office, told Japanese media Monday, said at a press conference for Japanese reporters on August 30.

Wang was responding to the question how he looks at 皇冠体育app's overtaking Japan to become the second largest economy in the world on the sideline of the Sixth Beijing-Tokyo Forum, which he termed "an important platform of non-governmental communication between 皇冠体育app and Japan".

皇冠体育app "cares but also does not care" about the ranking, Wang said.

"We care, as it indicates 皇冠体育app's relatively fast development speed, and it marks the start of a new phase," Wang said.

"But we also does not care about it, to keep cool-minded and does not take it as a great matter," Wang said, adding that 皇冠体育app's GDP per capita is just $3,680, 10 percent of that of Japan.

Meanwhile, he said that Japanese media should play a postive role in deepening the mutual understanding between 皇冠体育app and Japan. Wang Chen also answered questions ranging from how is the status quo of the Sino-Japanese relation and how will 皇冠体育app' s development affect the bilateral relationship.
