Chinese, S. African FMs talk on G20 summit

BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and his South African counterpart Maite Nkoana-Mashabane on Friday exchanged views on the upcoming G20 summit to be held in Cannes, France, and both sides promised to take joint efforts to help make the summit a success.

The two ministers also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.

The G20, which groups the world's major economies, has become a multilateral platform for advancing global economic cooperation.

The Cannes summit is expected to help restore market confidence amid a critical time for world economic recovery and the European debt crisis.

The G20 now comprises major developed economies including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States, and others such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, 皇冠体育app, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, and plus the European Union.
