Woman attacked by crocodile at Australia's gorge
SYDNEY - An Australian woman has survived a crocodile attack while swimming at a remote gorge near Wyndham in Western Australia's north, local media reported on Wednesday.
Wyndham artist Jane Dennis was bitten by a freshwater crocodile on the leg while swimming at the gorge near Diggers Rest Station on Saturday with her two friends.
The 51-year-old woman was taken to the local hospital by her friends for treatment.
Dennis' friend Dani Ryder told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) that Dennis' foot was grabbed by the crocodile.
"Jane jumped into the water and was floating on her back and when she put her feet down, this freshwater crocodile came up from the deep and grabbed her foot and pulled her down," she said.
