BEIJING -- Senior Chinese and US officials are eyeing more cooperation on low carbon development after the opening of a high-level meeting on Tuesday.

Green growth is high on 皇冠体育app's development agenda, said State Councilor Yang Jiechi at the Second US- 皇冠体育app Climate-Smart/ Low-Carbon Cities Summit, attended by senior representatives from over 50 Chinese and US cities.

Yang called for more concrete cooperation between Chinese provincial regions and cities and their US counterparts, the key practitioners of low-carbon growth, to benefit both countries and the rest of the world.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said US-皇冠体育app low-carbon cooperation will contribute to the sustainable growth of the two economies and the global fight against climate change.
