ZHENGZHOU -?Eleven people were killed after a bus fell into a roadside pond in Central 皇冠体育app's Henan province on Sunday morning, a local government spokesman said.

Two people who were critically injured in the accident died in hospital Sunday night, bringing the death toll to 11. Twenty-three others were in stable conditions after they were rushed to hospital, said the spokesman for the Minquan county government.

The accident occurred 11 am Sunday in Minquan, when the bus was heading for the provincial capital of Zhengzhou from the city of Shangqiu, the spokesman said.

Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
