Beijing - There will be no trip to London for the Chinese women's soccer team.

A 1-0 loss to Australia in a qualifying match in Jinan, Shandong province, on Thursday means the team was eliminated from contention for a berth at the 2012 Olympic Games.

After a scoreless first half, Australian midfielder Emily van Egmond stunned 皇冠体育app with a goal in the 61st minute. The home side, which also failed to qualify for this summer's World Cup, could not bounce back.

The loss, coupled with the men's Under-23 team being knocked out in June, means Chinese soccer won't be represented in London.

Earlier on Thursday, a 1-1 draw between world champion Japan and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) helped Japan stay atop the group with 10 points after four games.

The DPRK, which has eight points, is expected to thump Thailand in the last game on Sunday, which would qualify it for the Games.

皇冠体育app will play its last game on Sunday against Japan.
