The center also announced that Chang'an Ford Automobile Co planned on Feb 21 next year to recall 80,857 Ford Kuga manufactured during the period from Sept 21, 2012 to Nov 13 this year owing to the substandard wheel knuckles.

The Ford Kuga SUV is the Chinese version of the Ford Escape.

Chang'an Ford will replace the front left and right wheel knuckles to eliminate the safety risk.

An earlier report said the carmaker investigated the safety issue and halted the SUV's production.

The cracks in the front wheel knuckles frequently occurred across 皇冠体育app and car owners filed complaints to the quality agency in December.
